Jewish Community Vigil for Black and Palestinian Lives
July 13, 2016 @ 7:00 pm

Jewish Voice for Peace – Triangle NC organizes vigil for Black and Palestinian Lives
Where: CCB Plaza; 201 N Corcoran St, Durham, North Carolina 27701
When: Wednesday, July 13; 7 PM
From Jewish Voice for Peace – Triangle NC’s Facebook Page
We at JVP-Triangle are deeply disturbed and heartbroken over violence happening across the world.
The deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, Akiel Denkins in Raleigh and Jai Williams in Asheville, are just the most recent examples of police violence against Black lives in the US. Reports of water shutoffs in the West Bank and air strikes in Gaza are reminders of the continuing violence of the Israeli occupation – carried out in our names, as American Jews.
Jewish people have a responsibility to call out this violence. We are calling on our community to come together, mourn these lives lost, and work for a brighter future.
If you’d like to contribute some words, a prayer, a poem, or song, please contact Suzi at suzipiet@gmail.com.
Please bring candles and meet us at the Bull at 7PM. In case of rain, we’ll move to the covered area at Durham Central Park/Farmer’s Market.
All are welcome who support Black lives and Palestinian lives (both Jews & non-Jews!).
